We are seeking all kinds of visual artworks to feature. We welcome a wide range of mediums and practices, including:

• Photography
• Typography
• Prints
• Painting
• Collage
• Comics
• Sculpture
• Illustration
• Fine art
• Sketchbook and notebook pages
• Process scans
• Etc

Submission Requirements: Please submit up to 5 works for consideration.

• File type: TIFF or JPEG
• Color format: CMYK
• Resolution: 300 DPI
• Minimum dimensions: 500 × 500 px

For each piece, please include:

• Title
• Year of creation
• Medium
• Preferred artist name

Optional to include a short artist statement ( maximum of 200 words).

All works submitted may be considered for use as cover art.

Content Warnings: If your work depicts graphic, violent, or otherwise visceral content, please include a content warning with your submission.

We welcome art across a wide range of subjects and encourage artists to submit work regardless of content. Every submission will be considered thoughtfully and fairly. Content warnings allow our review team to engage with sensitive material while also prioritizing their well-being. Thank you for your understanding.

All kinds of poetry are welcome. Submissions can include (but are not limited to) lyric, prose, narrative, visual, free verse, haiku, ekphrastic, and sonnet. If you believe it’s a poem, it is!

Submit up to 3 poems with a maximum of 8 pages total. Please submit your work as a single document in either .docx or .pdf format, using legible font.

If there is specific formatting for your piece(s), please submit your work in PDFs using Times New Roman 12 point font to ensure format/layout does not get altered in publication. 

If the submission is in an entirely different language, please feel free to submit an English translation to be published if you'd like. Please do submit an English translation for strictly review purposes either way. 

Please only submit previously unpublished work. Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but let us know if it has been accepted elsewhere.

We are highly interested in multidisciplinary work. If you have visual elements that supplement your written work, please submit them alongside your poem(s). This can include scanned, handwritten versions of the poem(s), drawings, photographs, and other complementary visuals.

We are open to all styles including, but not limited to: memoir, lyric essay, academic writing, opinion piece, journalism, and hybrid works.

Submissions should be a minimum of 3 pages and a maximum of 12 pages long, double-spaced, submitted as a .docx file.

If the work contains sensitive content, please include a trigger warning with your submission.

Have you dreamed of being an arts or fashion writer? We want to hear from you!

We are seeking art, exhibition, fashion, and runway critique.

Have you recently seen a particularly fascinating exhibition? Have any controversial thoughts about 2026 NYFW?

Whether you're reviewing an exhibition at The Met or a pop-up at an independent gallery, dissecting the latest collection from a major fashion house or highlighting an emerging label, we hope to publish your unique perspectives.

• Simultaneous submissions are welcome; however, please notify us if your work is accepted elsewhere

For our Food Writing Feature, we ask you to cook up a short and sweet commentary of a meal you have prepared recently. It can be anything from a feast you and your roommates made for a dinner party to a plate of kimchi and eggs you whipped up on a busy morning before rushing out of the door for class. 

We want an insider look into how the meal was hatched, what the experience of cooking the food was like—was it noisy/quiet, were you at ease or was your cortisol spiking? Did you plan for everything accordingly (mise en place) or did you grab ingredients at random? Feel free to tap into sensory detail. Think about any aspects of your meal that you think the common eye would have overlooked.

We desire honest accounts of New School students’ relationships with food. 

Are there any habits you’ve put in place to make cooking more of a custom? 

If you did have a joint meal, what was it like to organize? 

Was there a theme or special quirk to the dinner? 

Walk us through it. Was there anything that you didn’t expect to happen that did? 

We hope that this is enough substance for you to get the ball rolling. Side note: we encourage all kinds of voices and writing styles. Variety is a chef’s kiss. Above all, have fun with it. Happy writing—and eating!

All varieties and genres of fiction aside from screenplays are welcome. This includes but is not limited to short stories, flash fiction, autofiction, microfiction, plays, prose, hybrid works, and excerpts from longer works.

We have a 4,000 word limit per submission. Multiple pieces will be accepted, but the total number of words across all works must be no more than 4,000.
